Embracing the One True God: A Journey into Apostolic Faith and the Holy Ghost Experience

The concept of being Apostolic goes beyond belief; it is about experiencing a living relationship with God. For all that embark, this journey is transformative. Apostolic faith, with its foundation on one God and the life-changing power of the Holy Ghost, guides individuals to a deeper understanding of spirituality. So, what does it mean to be truly Apostolic? Firstly, it's a direct edict to follow the teachings of the Apostles...those that walked and talked directly with Jesus and that were given the keys to the kingdom. This journey involves thorough exploration of doctrine, powerful personal experiences, and a commitment to a close relationship with the Almighty.

Understanding Apostolic Faith

At the heart of Apostolic faith is the belief in one God. This is a direct challenge to the Trinity doctrine and is vital to the revelation of knowing God. You cannot have a relationship with someone you do not know. Oneness teaching holds that there is only ONE 'person' that is God: Jesus. HE is the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Ghost in sanctification. The Bible is full of scriptures to herald this understanding, but to summarize as Colossians 2:9 so succinctly does: For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. This fundamental truth sets its followers apart within the Christian community. It is not just a statement; it shapes daily life, guiding believers in their actions and interactions.

The Apostolic doctrine is firmly based on the teachings of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament and as carried forth by those that were closest to him. It emphasizes that Jesus is both fully God and fully man, underlining His life, death, and resurrection. For those who identify as Apostolic, the phrase "one God" signifies more than doctrine—it reflects a personal bond with their Creator.

Living as an Apostolic means acting on this belief. This includes key practices like baptism in the NAME of Jesus and understanding the essential role of receiving the Holy Ghost as so clearly declared to all that were at Jerusalem when Acts 2:38 was declared by the man with the keys. Apostolics strive to reflect Christ-like values in their daily lives.

The Holy Ghost is central to this experience. Receiving it is not just about a single moment; it represents an ongoing journey of sanctification, empowering individuals to live their faith more authentically. And a direct command by Jesus when he was giving clarification to Nicodemus in John chapter 3.

The Holy Ghost Experience

The Holy Ghost experience is often described as a profound encounter with God. Yet is is much more than that...it is HIS Spirit within us! Those who have experienced this infusion frequently report feelings of love, peace, joy, and a cleanliness of heart like nothing else can compare to. This experience leads to a strong desire to worship and serve God. One thing is certain: when the Lord of lords and King of kings comes into your heart, there MUST be a change, a difference. It cannot be any other way.

The impact of the Holy Ghost is multi-dimensional. Spiritually, it is a requirement unto salvation, but it also deepens one’s understanding of Scripture and uncovers insights that may have been hidden before (John 16:13). Emotionally, it offers comfort during difficult times, helping people navigate life's ups and downs with renewed faith.

As Apostolics, we believe when a person is filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, it will ALWAYS happen the same way it did when the initial experience happened at the birth of the New Testament church in Acts chapter 2: with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. In every place throughout the book of Acts, including in the house of Cornelius in Acts 10, a Gentile, this same experience with the same evidence took place.

Living the Apostolic Life

Being Apostolic involves more than agreeing with doctrinal beliefs; it demands a persistent commitment to embody those beliefs in daily life. This commitment thrives in a supportive community that encourages and fosters spiritual growth.

Apostolics often live out their faith through actions that showcase their beliefs. This entails adhering to Biblical principles in interactions, relationships, ethical choices, and the treatment of HIS temple (our bodies). The church community functions like family, embodying God’s love through support and care for one another.

Worship is also crucial to the Apostolic lifestyle. Whether through music, prayer, or teaching, worship nurtures a deeper connection with God. Many Apostolic believers find that their expressions of worship, both in communal gatherings and personal time, lead to remarkable life conditions and moments of transformation.

A Path of Faith and Discovery

Embracing Apostolic faith is a continuous journey marked by a steadfast belief in one true God and a transformative relationship with the Holy Ghost. It is not just about doctrine; it is a lived experience that shapes the identities and purposes of believers.

As individuals uncover the depth of this relationship, they become catalysts for change, bringing the light of the Gospel to their communities. Through heartfelt worship and genuine relationships, Apostolic believers discover fulfillment and joy.

In essence, embracing God through Apostolic faith represents a dynamic journey of discovery, empowerment, and passion. Whether you are new to this path or have been walking it for years, the call remains firm: to cultivate a life filled with the Holy Ghost's power, illuminating the way for others to follow.
